There is a beauty in cemeteries that is wasted on the dead. They really are interesting places to go. Headstones are often ornate pieces of art. Names, dates and epitaphs tell little stories and leave much to the imagination to be able to fill in. They are often peaceful and quiet surrounded by trees and grass. Cemeteries aren’t places for the dead to go. There are places for history to come alive. History lives in cemeteries.

“Shot on a winters day in Abney Park Cemetery, London 2013. Directed by Josh Williams. Music:  Ólafur Arnalds – Only the Winds, from his new album ‘For Now I am Winter’. Dedicated to Barbara Williams, the lady with the warmest heart.”
