Autocomplete thinks the Prairies are a dump

Google’s Autocomplete function is revealing some interesting trends regarding how some people feel about Prairie cities. For the three phrases “Winnipeg is,” “Regina is,” and “Edmonton is,” Autocomplete recommends finishing each sentence with “a dump.” The verdict is still out as to whether these searches were done by disillusioned locals or just outsiders who have far too much time and inner rage.

On a more positive note, Edmonton also receives an “is awesome” result, along with Calgary, Saskatoon, and Brandon. The real wild cards of the bunch are Winnipeg and Regina, which, along with “a dump,” also give the results “Winnipeg is better than chocolate” and, my personal favourite, “Regina is rumpelstiltskin’s daughter.”
