British man strips, mounts London statue

The statue of the Duke of Cambridge got an unexpected visit Friday, when a naked man climbed atop his head.

London police arrested the man who, seemingly, for no purpose, mounted the equestrian statue and began striking poses in his birthday suit. At one point he stood precariously and fully extended on the top of the Dukes bronze head.

Eventually the man dismounted and was taken into custody. According to the Scotland Yard, the man was detained under Britain’s Mental Health Act.

Perhaps it was the chilly autumn weather that finally convinced the man to come down from the statue. If that was the case, its unlikely anyone in from the Canadian prairies will ever follow suit – or lack thereof.
