Liverpool: A day in the life

What do you think of when you think Liverpool? That’s right, a time lapse video. Oh ya, and that band….what was there name again? The Batels? The Botles? The Bagels? Oh right, The Beatles. But, of course, Liverpool is much, much more than just one band, and David Humphreys of Fotopia Photography does an excellent job of showing us a Liverpool some of us may never have seen.

“I shot this over a six month period from December 2012 until June 2013, in my home city of Liverpool.

The city has many buildings of historic and cultural significance, not forgetting their aesthetic and architectural merit. Due to this, the city frequently doubles for major cities around the world in the movies – London, New York, Chicago, St Petersburg & Moscow to name but a few.

To say that this is the only reason I chose Liverpool as the subject for my first film would be far from the truth. Whether you’re Liverpool born and bred, moved in to the area, or came to university and never quite managed to make the effort go back home to mum and dad when you graduated, Liverpool becomes a part of you as you become a part of Liverpool.

That is to say, the reason came not from my head but from my heart and soul – consider this film my little love letter to the city – its architecture, its culture and most importantly, its people.
