Summer solstice at Stonehenge

The summer solstice has arrive, and when I think of a solstice, I think of Stonehenge. The mystery of the giant stones on the Salisbury plains in the UK has yet to be completely unraveled. Regardless, they have become a center point for people celebrating the solstice, whether spiritual or not, whether we know the true reason for their existence or not.

This year, 20,000 people showed up at Stonehenge to mark the event. Here is some raw video from the Associated Press showing some of the often unique folks who made the pilgrimage. Here’s to a long, warm and wonderful summer.
